Preschool parents are encouraged to attend to hear each committee present upcoming events and to
celebrate the successes of all our wonderful committees!
Book Fair
Committee Chairs: Elizabeth Kelsey | Whitney Wood | Michelle Adams
A scholastic Book Fair pop-up bookstore located in Heritage Hall for students, teachers, and families to
browse and purchase books. Volunteers help with setting up, restocking bookshelves, and taking down
the fair. Volunteers will also assist children and parents in selecting books and checking out purchases
throughout each day of the event. (October 20-23, 2026, Threes, Pre-K, Five/Six)
Class Christmas Ornament
Committee Chair: Megan Knowlton | Mary Catherine Goolsby
Volunteers will help create the annual Preschool Christmas ornament and coordinate with parent
volunteers from each class for every child in the school. The volunteers prepare materials by cutting
ribbon, paper and photos prior to assembly week. (November 12-13, 2026, All grade levels)
Cultural Arts
Committee Chairs: Avery Chancy | Taylor Wilson | Cardin Cone
Cultural Arts committee presents special programs throughout the year for the students including Safety
Week, Polar Express event, the mailman visits for Valentines Day, and the arrival and care for our school
chicks. Volunteers support this committee by planning and executing these events (Ongoing, Threes and
up)
Field Day
Committee Chairs: Julia Darland
Field Day is a fun day of games in the sun for the Pre-K and Five/Six classes. Volunteers will help
organize the event and run games. May 6, 2027, Pre-K and Five/Six)
Grandparents Day
Committee Chairs: Caroline Dorsey | Mary Ann Quintrell
Grandparents Day celebrates over 500 grandparents of The Preschool. Grandparents are invited to
spend time in chapel and in the classroom. Volunteers help prepare materials for the event, coordinate
food and decor, as well as day of volunteers to assist grandparents to and from Grace Hall. (October 23,
2026, Threes, Pre-K, Five/Six)
Media (Firefly Books and Library)
Committee Chair: Tricia DurhamThis committee, with assistance from our Media Specialist, helps with internal book responsibilities.
Additionally, publicizes order dates for Scholastic books to then sort and distribute purchased books.
Volunteers are needed to reshelve books and media materials in the library. (Ongoing, All grade levels)
Mini Memories
Committee Chairs: Rachel Howell | Jessica Ordner | Kelli Sebade
Mini Memories is a fundraiser in which parents create beautiful painted ceramics including handprint
birthday plates, holiday platters, and porcelain crosses. Volunteers from each class work to create a
design and complete the class ceramics. (Ongoing by grade level, All grade levels)
Outreach
Committee Chairs: Balie Duckett | Carter Day
The Outreach committee supports local agencies throughout the year and is a great way for our
Preschool community to give back. The school collections are delivered to the specific agency in need.

Paint With Me: Christmas Keepsakes Event
Committee Chairs: Sofi Elkabbani | Alyssa Thomason
This event offers a special opportunity for parents to come to school at pickup time and paint Christmas
ceramic keepsakes with their child—perfect for holiday gifts! Volunteers will help with setup, assist during
the event, and support the glazing of the ceramic pieces. (October 6-7, 2026, All grade levels).
Parent Enrichment: Christmas Marketplace & Brunch
Committee Chairs: Darby Clark | Mallory Savage
The Parent Enrichment committee hosts events aimed at connecting the parents in our community over
conversation and learning. The 4th annual marketplace will be hosted with a delicious breakfast, as well
as pop up shopping from local vendors and boutiques. Volunteers are needed for event planning and day
of planning. (December 1, 2026, All grade levels)
Parent Enrichment: Community Events
Committee Chairs: Tara Buckhalter | May Koes | Sam Fendler
The Parent Enrichment committee brings together the community and school by organizing and planning
partnerships with other businesses in the area. Volunteers will help promote events such as Chick Fil A
Spirit day, plan and organize the end of year playground party, as well as other fun community gatherings.
Parent Enrichment: New Parents
Committee Chairs: Brooke Heaton | Emily Heslin | Megan Shows
This committee is dedicated to welcoming new families into our preschool community by connecting them
with parent liaisons as they begin their journey at The Preschool. The committee also hosts events such
as the New Parent Party and New Parent Orientation to help families feel supported, informed, and part
of our community from the start.
Parent Socials
Committee Chairs: Julia Block | Kelsey GarciaThese wonderful community building events are a great place for parents to connect with other Preschool
families in their specific grade levels. (Invitation to come)
Peachtree Pathways
Committee Chair: Kate Davis & Elizabeth Mitchler
Peachtree Pathways is an Atlanta Area Public and Private School Showcase for parents to learn more
about education options beyond The Preschool. Volunteers are needed to help plan and execute the
event in Grace Hall. (September 30, 2026, All grade levels)
Room Parent Coordinator
Committee Chair: Lorin Rollins
Room parent coordinator organizes and supports all classroom room parents by providing them with
guidance and information about their responsibilities and ensuring consistent communication between all
parties.
School Pictures
Committee Chairs: Mary Leith Lewis | Emily Brown
In partnership with Linda Nichols Photography, students and classes are photographed. Committee
volunteers will help during picture week walking kids to and from their classroom and grooming for
photos. (September 21-22, 2026 (Twos and up) and March 24-25, 2027 (Toddlers and siblings)
Silhouettes
Committee Chairs: Kendall Ratterree | Courtney Casso
A treasured keepsake fundraising event to purchase hand cut silhouette portraits of your child. Volunteers
assist by helping walk children to and from classrooms to sit for their custom silhouette. (November 9-10,
2026, All grade levels)
Spirit Store
Committee Chairs: Kat Dean
The Spirit Store handles designing and distributing t-shirts. Volunteers help assist with sorting and
distributing sales of t- shirts throughout the year. (Ongoing, All grade levels)
Spring Fundraiser + Auction
Committee Chairs: Melissa Coats | Caroline Hawkins | Frances Weathington
Parents and members of our preschool community gather to attend a fun evening out --More details to
come! Volunteers are needed to help secure sponsorships, auction items, and event details. (March 19,
2027, All grade levels)
Teacher Appreciation
Committee Chairs: Jessye McCormick | Kelsey Swan
The Teacher Appreciation Committee celebrates our incredible teachers with a Fall Luncheon (Oct 6-7,
2026) and a special Spring Teacher Appreciation Week (Feb 8-11, 2027), featuring memorable events likea fun teacher shopping night! Volunteers help plan, organize, and bring each event to life, ensuring our
teachers feel valued and loved throughout the year. (October and February, All grade levels).
