Art Build & Design and Art Adventure Club (Twos - Five/Six)
It’s never too early to expose children to financial literacy and how to spend and save. Understanding economics is not only a foundational skill in mathematics and social studies, but it is a practical, lifelong investment. In Imagination Station, children will be exposed to concepts like identifying money, distinguishing between needs and wants, the basics of saving and spending, and the roles and jobs in a community, through role-playing games and picture books. Intentional, dramatic play activities will include creating a vocation (for example, grocery/toy store, doctor or veterinarian, or restaurant) and shopping with a budget in mind, with jobs to earn money in which to save or spend.
Children will eat lunch and will play on the playground in addition to the scheduled activities.
Imagination Station is offered on Mondays or Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Kinder Readiness Club (PreK & Five/Six)
KinderReadiness Club (PreK, Five-Six) is an after school, skill-based class designed for children approaching kindergarten. KinderReadiness dives deep into reading readiness with comprehension skills like making predictions, retelling stories, identifying story elements, making connections to texts, and developing alternative endings to stories. Children will also be exposed to environmental print, different genres of text, tracking words on a page, and text features. Letter and sound recognition learned in The Preschool's morning program will also be reinforced.
Children will eat lunch and will play on the playground in addition to the scheduled activities.
KinderReadiness is offered on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Class days will depend on enrollment.
